  • The Battle of Lake George

    British Colonel William Johnson wins a battle, making him the first British war hero of this war.
  • War Declared

    The British declare war on France. A day later, France declares war on Great Britain.
  • The French Capture Fort Oswego

    Fort Oswego is located on the banks of the Great Lakes.
  • The French Take Fort William Henry

    A massacre ensues.
  • The French take Fort Ticonderoga

  • The British Take Louisbourg

    WIth the capture of Louisbourg, the British have access to Canada.

    With Fort Frontenac out of their hands, they are no longer able to communicate with troops in the Ohio Valley.

    The French and the rebels had cornered them and they had no choice.

    THis officially ends the war.
  • The Constitution is Made

    This replaces the Articles of Confederation. One of the most signifigant compromise made in it was the decision to include two houses in the Legislative Branch. The Senate would have 2 representatives per state and the House of Representatives would have representation based on population. Senators have six year terms and were meant to operate farther away (figurativly speaking) from the people. Representatives would have two year terms and were meant to be closer to the people.
