The Iroquois eventually gave certain trading rights to the British which upset the balance between the French and British that they had worked so hard to make. -

In 1722 the English referred to a confederecy as Six Nations. Those include the Mohawhk, Seneca, Cayuga, Onodaga, Oneida,and the Tuscarora. -
Britian and French Hostility
Hostility grew, British fur traders built a fort called Pickawillany. The French then attacked Pickawillany and drove the British out of Ohio. -
George Washington
A 21 year old was sent to tell the French that they were trespassing on the land that Great Brtiain claimed.
He was told that it was their(the french) plan to take possession of the Ohio and by God they would do it. -
The Failed Plan of Action
Represntatives from Albany and in New York met to discuss the threat of a war from the french. They adopated Benjamin Franklin's "Albany Plan of Union for a united colonial government.The metting failed and the french and indian war broke out. -
Wahington's First Command
Washington became a lieutenant colonel. He was then sent back to Ohio with a militia. They had instuctions to build a fort where present day Pittsburgh is but when they got there they found that the french were already there. They set up a camp nearby then struck the frnch first but were outnumbered and had to surrender.
