Francisco Pizarro was born in Trujillo Spain in 1475. The exact date of his birth is unknown. HIs father was Gonzalo Pizarro Rodríguez de Aguilar who served under italian campaigns. HIs mother was Francisca González Mateos. Francisco"s parent were never married.

Pizarro sailed with newly appointed governor of Hispaniola Nicolás de Ovando y Cáceres on a expedition with 30 ships. the ships carried 2500 colonists and was the largest trip ever sailed to the new world.

In 1513 accompanied by Vasco Núñez de Balboa Pizarro crossed the Isthmus of Panama. They were the first europeans to see the Pacific Coast of the new world.

While in Panama Pizarro joined forces with a soldier Diego de Almagro and a preist Hernando de Luque to explore and conquer the south. They agreed to divide the empire they conquered equally. pizarro would be the commander, Almagro would provide supplies and soldiers and Luque would handle finances.

This espedition proved to be a failure beacuse he and the conquistadors reached Colombia and had to turn around due to lack of food and bad weather. After the Battle of Punta Quemada Pizarro decided to return to Panama.

Pizarro left with 2 ships of 160 men and sevral horses. Almagro led one ship and Pizarro led the other. They decided they needed more supplies andAlmagro took one ship back with some gold to convince men to join. He came back with men to find Pizarro and his men exhausted. They made it to Atacames but felt the native peple were to war-like and decided to retreat.

The famous 13 is a group of 13 men who sided with Pizarro instead of Almagro when asked to do a 3rd expedition.Pizarro drew a line in the sand, saying: "There lies Peru with its riches; Here, Panama and its poverty. Choose, each man, what best becomes a brave Castilian." 13 men stayed with Pizarro and beacme the famous 13. the men made their way to La Isla Gorgona to wait for new supplies. They then went on to many other places picking up and leaving men ontil the reacehd Panama.

Pizarro reached Spain and met King Charles I who gave him support for the Conquest of Peru. Queen Isabel took rule during the KIngs absence and signed the Capitulación de Toledo which was a document allowing Pizarro to proceed with the Conquest of Peru. She officially named Pizarro the Governor, Captain General, and the "Adelantado" of the New Castile.Pizarro then left for Trujillo and asked his brother Hernando Pizarro for help in his conquest. Juan,Pedro and Gonzalo Pizarro helped him also.

Pizarro and his army marched through Cajamarca to have a meeting with Atahualpa which he declined. This caused Pizarro to attack causing the Battle of Cajamarca on 16 November 1532 which was a success. A year later Pizarro invaded Cuzco with indeginous troops and finished the conquest of Peru. Almagro came back and made sure the incas couldn't rebuilde Cuzco. He was later killed and Pizarro married his wife Dona Angelina in 1538 and had 2 sons Juan and Francisco.

Pizarro died in his palace in Lima Peru in 1541.20 armed supporters of Diego Almagro II stormed his palace and stabbed him on the throat and he died moments after that. He painted a cross made out of his own blood and screamed for Jesus Christ right as he died.
