  • First Motion Picture

    The first motion picture was taken by Eadweard Muybridge. The picture focus on a horse running. They used twelve cameras to capture each movement.

    Trip to the moon was the first scientific fiction film. It was created by Georges Melies. It was also the first film to use special effects.

    In 1933 New Jersey created the first drive in movie theater. It was a great way for family and friends to enjoy films together.

    Wizard of Oz was released in 1939. It was the first film with Technicolour. They used special processes to make the film what it was today.

    In 1940 a movie called "The Great Dictator" was released. Charlie Chaplin a very famous actor at the time starred and directed the film. The film was made to put out an important message during hard times.
