    Were rebelious young women who wore short, loose, sleeveless dresses. Had short hair, and wore heels about 2-3 inches high, with un-done straps. They had heavy makeup, and usually had pale skin. But Coco Chanel accidentally got tanned, which made tan skin seem more attractive. They were important, because they made a big impact on fashion, which helped designers come up with new styles of clothes, including 1927, when skirt lengths rose just below the knee.     Men usually wore suits that were short in the front (up to the waist), and long at the back, and were usually worn with a belt.     She was a film actress. Her first movie was in 1922 called "Beyond the Rainbow". The movie that got her the most attention was "It" in 1927. She became known the "it girl". Because of this, she became a fashion icon and a role model to many young women. (Feburary 19th, 1922 was the premire date of her first movie)

    She came up with, and designed the Chanel Suit (collarless jackets for women, with a matching straight skirt). She wanted to create a look for women that was proffesional, fashionable, and comfortable. Some of her designs are still popular today, and even had her own company "Chanel" which sells perfume, clothes, etc. and it is still popular today. (actual date in 1925 is unknown)

    She was a silent film actress, and a dancer. She was also a popular well-known flapper. Louise Brooks` first movie was in 1925 (The Street of Forgotten Men), however, she was uncredited. Her big role in "A Girl In Every Port" in 1928, was what made her famous.
    She died at the age of 79. (Febuary 26th, 1928 was the premiere date of her movie, "A Girl in Every Port)

    -Upper class men usually wore top hats.
    -Middle class men usually wore fedora hats.

    Clothes for children in the 1920s allowed greater movement for daily activities, than clothes before World War I. Girls:
    Wore loose-fitting cotton dresses with ankle-length socks and canvas shoes in warm weather.
    Winter clothes included hand knitted sweaters and wool twill skirts. When it was cold, girls wore undershirts with long suspenders attached to keep up woolen stockings. Boys:

    She was important because she was an idol to young women around the age of 20. She died at the age of 26. (October 31st, 1931 was the premiere date of her most famous movie, "Platinum Blonde")
