    Schlieffen Plan
    This plan was designed by Alfred von Schlieffen and was supposed to give Germany a better chance at winning a two-front war. This plan lead to trench warfare and it was believed to be the reason that Germany lost World War 1 in 1918.
  • The October Manifesto is Issued

    The October Manifesto is Issued
    This document promised the Duma, which is an elective Parliament, and several civil liberties. This brought the Russian Revolution to its end.
  • Bloody Sunday

    Bloody Sunday
    A group of workers marched to the czar's Winter Palace in St. Petersburg along side a priest named Georgy Apollonovich. Hundreds of people were shot and killed by imperial forces for being a part of the protest. This event began the Russian Revolution.
  • The Battle of Tannenberg

    The Battle of Tannenberg
    This was the first of the Battles of the Eastern Front. Germany and Austria pushed Russia out of Poland.
  • The Battle of the Marne

    The Battle of the Marne
    France and Britain fought against Germany near Paris, France (approximately 30 miles away). Germany was forced out and lost the battle. (The style was trench warfare). This was the first of the Battles of the Western Front where there were over one million casualties.

    The Russians (for the Allies side) wanted to support the Serbs and while they had good intentions, this lead to a great downfall for the Russian Empire. Their involvement in the war lead to mass inflation and the economy went downhill.

    World War 1 began after the death of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated. War was declared on Serbia by Austria-Hungary.

    After Germany bombed the Lusitania u-boat, carrying hundreds of American passengers, they bombed four more American merchant ships within a month's time. Germany also sent a letter to Mexico called the "Zimmerman Telegram," which stated that if they supported Germany in the war, they would give Mexico land from the United States' territory. Mexico told the United States that they were on our side and America entered the war.

    Adolf Hitler was promised an appeasement (a peace offering of land to avoid war). He was given Czechoslovakia.

    The war begins when Britain and France declare war on Germany because Adolf Hitler invaded Poland.

    Hitler sent air and ground support to defeat France. France gives into Germany and retreats.

    Everyone who could be threatening to the Germans in the Soviet territory was terminated (Jews, Communists, etc). The U.S. stepped in two days later to help in anyway possible the Soviet people.

    The current American president, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, warned Japan to not cause conflict against their neighboring countries and that if they did, they'd have the United States to go through.

    The Axis surrendered. VE (Victory in Europe) was celebrated on May 8, 1945 in result of the conclusion of WW2.
