    Evita was born May 7, 1919 in Los Toldos, Argentina She grew up poor, dreaming of becoming actress. Peron and her sister Erminda made up little performances together when they were little. Her mother Juana Ibaguren, had four children with her father Juan Duarte. They were never married but Juana used the last name Duarte for her family.

    In 1943, she was on a special radio series, giving her the chance to play Queen Elizabeth I and Catherine the Great. While she was at the radio stations she met Juan Peron.

    In 1945 Evita married governor official Juan Peron. That next year Juan became president of Argentina. This is when Evita became first lady and started programs for people in need.

    In 1947, she set up the Maria Eva Duarte De Peron Welfare Foundation, which gave away money, food and medicines to people in need.
