This act encouraged immigration because people wanted to move to the U.S. to obtain affordable land. Diversity in public schools was widely noticed. -
Plessy vs. Ferguson
"Seperate but equal" was introduced in attempt to give students equal schooling. -
Women Allowed To Teach
Women sufferage was addressed and women were allowed to step into a teaching positions. -
Civil Rights Movement
The governemnt wanted to make opportunities equal for all. Equality in schools allowed everyone to have the same chance at learning. -
Brown vs. Board of Education
A court ruled that separating blacks and whites for schooling was unconsititutional. -
Sputnik Lauched
The launch of Sputnik resulted in expansion of funding to the science and math teachings. -
Head Start
This program put more of a focus on kids in the special education department. As a result, special education students were able to receive a better education. -
Title IX
No student would be excluded from a school program based on their sex. -
No Child Left Behind
Students at a disadvantage were givin the opportunity to reach the same level of learning as other students.
