Japan attacked Manchuria because it was becoming increasingly crowded due to its limited size, and the rapid continuous increase of the population. It was also believed that Manchuria was rich in minerals, forestry and rich agricultural land. With all the issues that Japan was facing, Manchuria seemed as a wise solution to these problems.
