    Germany and Italy sent troops to Spain to help General Fransico Franco in Spainsh CIvil War. In Mussolini Hitler made an agreement recongizing their common political and economic interests. On month later Mussolini spoke of the new alliance of Italy and Germany called the Rome-Berlin Axis.

    Hitler new objective Czechoslovakia. On this day that Germany be given the Sudentenland, an area in Northwestern Czechoslovakia that was inhabitated largely by Germans.

    Japan attacked China in 1937 that arosed strong critism, especially around the United States. In 1940, Japan demanded exploited economic resources in Indochina. The United States denied, angrying Japan. United States warned that they would withhold economic sanctions unless Japan withdrew from the area in, 1931. Japan meeting these essential supplies agreed. Japan was now caught in a deliemma, decided to attack US.
