    British government and Colonial leaders are at the meeting. A meeting with the Iroquois. The Iroquois refused to go against the French because the French are stronger. It was a meeting in Albany, New York. They wanted to hopefully make an alliance with the Iroquois against the French. They also wanted to agree with the colonies to cooperate in defending themselves against the French.

    The British and the French are involved. The British and the French singed a treaty. France lost almost all of its North American possessions. It takes place in Paris. The French could not defend the Native American colonies.

    Pontiac's War

    The Ottawa Nation(Pontiac) and the British are fighting the war. Pontiac and his allies attacked the British forts and settlements throughout the area. The war took place west of the Appalachian Mountains. The Britain controlled almost all of the Native American land east of the Mississippi River.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    The British make the decision. They banned colonial settlement west of a line drawn along the Appalachian Mountains. This takes place East of the Appalachian Mountains. They wanted to avoid further wars with the Native Americans on the frontier.
  • Sugar Act

    The British and the Parliament agree to do this. The Parliament put a import tax on several products. This took place in the British colonies. They wanted to impose new taxes on the colonies.

    The workers and sailers started this. The soldiers were surrounded by an angry mob. This took place in Boston. Parliament got rid of all the Townshend duties except the one on tea.
  • Tea Act

    The British Parliament passed this act. The British colonists boycotted against tea. This took place in the British colonies. This was intended to help the British East India Company. The British East India Company was one of Britain's most important companies. The British Parliament lowered the price for tea but kept the tax.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The Sons of Liberty did this. They organized in port cities to stop the East India Company tea from being unloaded. This took place in port cities. The colonists had to pay tax on the tea. A large crowed gathered in the harbor. They were all disguised as Native Americans so they wouldn't get caught.
  • Intolerable Acts

    The Boston government made the acts. King George III called for tough action to make examples of the people of Boston and Massachusetts. This took place in Boston and Massachusetts. This happened because of the Boston Tea Party. Parliament passed four laws because of the Boston Tea Party.

The Congress demanded the repeal of the Intolerable Acts. They called for a new boycott on British goods. They also decided that if demands were not met they would meet again in May 1775.

    The British, Lexington, and Concord took part in this Battle. The British marched to Lexington. This took place in Lexington and Concord. The British found out that the minutemen in Concord where storing arms. 700 troops were sent to seize the arms and to capture some important colonial leaders.

    Delegates from twelve of the thirteen colonies came to this congress. They were divided about what to do. This event took place in Philadelphia. This congress took place because most colonists still did not favor independence. They decided that they needed to form an army. They choose Gorge Washington as the commander of the Continental army.
  • Battle for Fort Ticonderoga

    Colonists were involved in this battle. A daring band of colonists made a surprise attack on Fort Ticonderoga. This took place at the southern end of Lake Champlain. The Green Mountain Boys took several dozen cannons. The cannons were later moved to Boston. 42 British troops guarded the fort.
  • Battles of Bunker and Breeds Hill

    Colonists occupied Bunker Hill and Breed's Hill. This took place near Charles Town. A battle that took place there fueled the colonists' determination to fight. American farmers and workers were surrounding Boston. Nobody knew if they would stand and fight against tough British troops.

    The Second Continental Congress sent this petition. King George threw out the petition.
    Why- They hoped that peace could be restored between Britain and its American colonies.
  • Invasion of Quebec

    Some of Washington's armies invaded Quebec. Arnold's troop had a terrible journey through the Main woods. This took place in Quebec. Arnold's troops were forced to boil candles, bark, and shoe leather for food. The Americans withdrew due to a weakening by disease hunger.
  • The British Withdrawal from Boston

    George Washington took over the army. The British left Boston. This took place in Boston. The British ran out of ammunition so they had to retreat the battle. The British won the battle but at a terrible cost. More than 1,000 were killed or wounded.
