Peace of Augsburg
The Peace of Augsburg would allow state princes to decide the religion over their domain. This would allow Catholicism and Lutheranism to coexist with one another without much conflict, because people could choose to live in whatever domain they wished based on their beliefs. -

French Wars of Religion
A war between the Catholics and Huguenots in France. The spread of French Calvinism would lead the french ruler to show more acceptance of the Huguenots, which would anger the Roman Catholics. After many years of fighting, the Edict of Nantes would grant Calvinists rights. -

Bartholomew’s Day Massacre
A massacre of the french huguenots (french protestants) in Paris carried out by citizens and catholic nobles. This would start a lot of catholic church violence, and would make a turn inn the French War of Religion. -
Edict of Nantes
A law signed by King Henry the fourth of France that gave Huguenots much more religious liberty. This was important because France was mostly Protestant, and the signing of the law would end the French Wars of Religion, -

30 Years Old
A series of wars that were fought in Central Europe between the Catholics and Protestants that would form the Holy Roman Empire. It would begin when emperor Ferdinand the second tried to impose Roman Catholicism upon his domains and Protestant nobles would rise up in rebellion. -
Treaty of Westphalia
Under the terms of the treaty, countries would receive territory, or be acknowledged for their power over the territory. This would end the Eighty Years War and Thirty's Years War.
