    Alfonso's brother is having they stay with him until Abuelita comes with some money. She meets Marta and Isabel.

  • WORK TIME

    Mama Alfonso and Miguel go to work in the sheds. Then Esperanza had to learn how to take care of the babies . She also needs to learn how to sweep

  • SICKNESS

    The babies get sick. Then Esperanza remembers what Abuelita did to here when she was sick. then she gave the babies rice water

  • VALLEY FEVER

    Mama gets sick from the dust storm and can't be seen for 5 months.

  • TIME TO WORK

    Esperanza has to work in the sheds with a chance that the strikers could attack them. Later that day she finds Marta hiding in the corner behind a bunch of boxes.

    Esperanza's money orders are gone and she thinks Miguel stole it.
