  • Eleanor Fairchild Studies Hard : Industry versus Inferiority

Eleanor Fairchild Studies Hard : Industry versus Inferiority
Eleanor (age 7) focuses hard on her studies to compete with the high standards placed on her by her family. Sadly she's also in the shadow of her brother and must study harder to prove that she's as worthy as her brother. In this stage of Erikson's Psychosocial stages, children experience Industry or Inferiority. When children are encouraged to do well by parents and teachers, the will and they'll feel proud. If children don't receive this, they feel like they're less successful and failures.
  • Eleanor's Exploration : Identity Versus Confusion

Eleanor's Exploration : Identity Versus Confusion
Eleanor (age 17) is unsure about what she plans to do for the future, especially with graduation coming. On one hand, her father and mother are pushing her to pursue business and on the other, her brother encourages her to continue dancing. Being limited on what she can do (by her parents) she feels she's trapped. Adolescence (Identity versus confusion) is a time to explore and find yourself (your sense of self) or be limited by factors that only leave you confused and unsure about the future.
  • Eleanor Meets The Man of Her Dreams : Intimacy Versus Isolation

Eleanor Meets The Man of Her Dreams : Intimacy Versus Isolation
Eleanor celebrates her 22nd birthday today. She's currently studying nursing and dance at New York University. Because of her double major, Eleanor is expected to graduate late. Back in 2002, she met the man of her dreams, Mark Hayward. They met during a group project and were inseparable ever since. In intimacy versus isolation, young adults begin loving, intimate relationships with others. If successful, both feel secure and committed. If the person fails, isolation and sadness follow.
  • Eleanor Has a Boy : Generativity V Stagnation

Eleanor Has a Boy : Generativity V Stagnation
At 35, Eleanor had her second child, Ryder Elliot Hayward. He was Mark and her's Christmas miracle. She and Mark had been married now for five years and their daughter, Ava Rose Hayward, was turning three this coming February. Adulthood (generativity versus stagnation) is a time to start a family and focus on your career. If you succeed in this, you'll feel like you contributed to the world. If you fail you'll feel like you've given nothing to help the world and invaluable.
