Liz was the first child born to her parents. She was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. This moment brought much joy to her little, but growing family. This represents Erikson's 1st stage: trust vs. mistrust. She asked the question "Can I trust those around me?", the most important event in her life was feeding. -
When Liz was 16, she moved from Colorado to Alaska. She really struggled with finding her identity when she moved because she had already established who she was in Colorado with her social groups there, but when she moved she had to completely rethink herself as a person. This stage represents Erikson's Identity vs. Confusion Stage. Liz had to learn how to reestablish herself in a new place, school, swim team, and this was very difficult to do but perfectly represents Erikson's stage. -
Liz began dating Tristian when she was 16. They met at school and decided to begin a more intimate relationship. Liz was very excited at this time of life to begin feeling more grown up/independent. This stage represents Erikson's: Intimacy vs. Isolation. Liz and Tristian were able to give love to each other and fulfill the basic question of: Will I be loved? They made the decision to devote time to developing a relationship rather than being alone.
