Erikson Timeline

  • Stage One: Trust VS. Mistrust

On October 22, 2000, Bella was born. During Bella's infancy, she was breastfed for the first couple of weeks. After two weeks, Bella's mother had to go back to work. Bella was then switched to formula and had a caregiver. The caregiver consistently ignores Bella crying when she's hungry, and the caregiver ignores her during nap time. In Erikson's first stage, trust vs. mistrust, Bella develops mistrust from not maintaining a bond with her caregiver while being ignored.
  • Stage Four: Industry Vs. Inferiority

August 16, 2010, Bella is in school and Spanish class. Bella accomplishes her first complete sentence in Spanish and is acknowledged by her teacher that she is learning faster. In Erikson's fourth stage of industry vs. inferiority, Bella develops industry by being recognized for her fast learning skills in Spanish while gaining insight into another culture.
  • Stage Six: Intimacy Vs. Isolation

December 3, 2021, Bella attends her best friend's wedding. Bella realizes that she has never been in a long-term committed relationship, creating doubt that she will find a partner and be in love. At this point in Bella's life, she is not in contact with any family and only a few friends. Bella is a workaholic but lives alone and has social anxiety, making it hard for her to be social. In Eriksons sixth stage of intimacy vs. isolation, she is isolated by being able to keep relationships.
