Arquexia (age 9) has spent the last couple of years trying various activities such as ballet, playing the piano, and art; however, she did not enjoy those activities. It felt like a chore when she did them. When she tried out basketball, she felt like she always had something to look forward to. In Erikson's fourth stage, industry vs. inferiority, the crisis is between finding success in something to cope with social demands (industry) and feelings of failure (inferiority). -
Arquexia (age 20) decides to marry Bob while pursuing her B.S. in Nursing. Arquexia feels ready to tie the knot with Bob at this age, because she does not see herself with anyone else. In Erikson's sixth stage, intimacy vs. isolation, the crisis is between forming strong, loving relationships with others (intimacy) and feeling lonely and unsatisfied with your relationships (isolation). -
Arquexia (age 40) loves being a mom to her son. She thought that she was only going to have one child, but she has a surprise baby girl at the age of 40! She is very excited, because she loved raising her first child. In Erikson's seventh stage, generativity vs. stagnation, the crisis is between creating a positive change that benefits other people (generativity) and having little to no involvement in the world (stagnation).
