    Jōmon Period

    People live by hunting and gathering.
    Distant from last period due to pottery. Due to shallow ocean and tidal marshes they used a lot of resources from the water.
  • Period: 300 BCE to 300

    Yayoi Period

    Start of rice cultivation and use of metal utensils. Started by Korean migration.
  • Period: 710 to 784

    Nara Period

    Beginning of Japanese Literature! Such as the Kojiki Kojiki split in to 3 parts:
    Book 1: About gods and deities creating the world.
    Book 2: About the first Emperor of Japan
    Book 3: About more Emperors but no deities
