    It prohibits the FDA from authorizing the use of a food additive that can cause cancer in humans or animals. It was apart of the Food Additives Amendment.

CITES provides varying levels of protection to over 38,000 species through a system of permits and regulations.

    Commonly known as Superfund, was enacted in 1980 to address the cleanup of hazardous waste sites and respond to environmental emergencies involving toxic substances. It authorizes the federal government to identify responsible parties and compel them to clean up contaminated sites or reimburse the government for clean up efforts. Also, established a trust fund to support clean up when no responsible party can be identified.

    Commits developed countries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It established legally binding targets for 37 industrialized nations and the European Union. Recognizing their greater contribution to climate change.
