    The Flowing

    The stagnant, blank universe comes into contact with the Font of Creation.

    The Coalescence

    The rivers Oceanus and Styx form, along with the Seas of Calm and Unrest and the Eternal Void. The Outer and Inner planes delineate, and the immortal beings come into existence.

    The Creation

    The gods arrive in the center of the universe and create mortals. The Concurrent and Material Planes come into existence.
  • Period: 95,000 BCE to 42,000 BCE

    The Roiling Wars

    The gods of Good, Evil, Law, and Chaos and their mortals wage war with one another in the material plane.
  • 42,000 BCE

    The Founding of Sigil

    The Arbiter rises to power and forges Sigil, City of Doors.
  • Period: 42,000 BCE to 3000 BCE

    The Founding Era

    Mortals form their own civilizations separate from--but still closely intertwined with--the gods. The wars continue, under the watch of the Arbiter.
  • 3000 BCE

    The Forging of the Great Weapons

    The deities of Good and Evil create the Great Weapons to end the war once and for all.
  • Period: 3000 BCE to 1 BCE

    The War of Fates

    The Material Plane, which has only known warfare, endures its largest battle yet as the Great Weapons are brought into play.
  • 1 BCE

    End of the Fourth Age

    The details of the fourth age are largely lost and greatly debated. The Great Weapons and the Arbiter both disappeared, and the divine realms were permanently separated from the Material Plane.
