Founding of the Women's Franchise League
The Women's Franchise League worked in England to get the right to vote which succeeded in 1894. This is an important point in her life because this league worked hard to help women in England and succeeded in multiple ways. -
Women's Social and Political Union
The founding of the WSPU gave Pankhurst another good platform to voice and fight for equal rights and she used this to help fight for women's suffrage. She used this organization to campaign against political candidates that were holding back the movement. -
World War I
When War World 1 broke out Pankhurst put a hold on the suffrage movement and during this time of the war went around to many places and worked to push for women to be used in multiple different industries for the war effort. this helps push her forward in her beliefs and her efforts to push for equality. -
The End of Her Life
At the end of her life one last major thing happened. She was asked and then chosen to be a part of the east London Constituency before her passing. She continued in what she always pushed for and even though she wasn't alive when it passed a few years later she was important in the eventual passing of the Representation of the People Act of 1928. This was a huge win in women's suffrage in England and wouldn't have been possible without Pankhurst's push and advocacy. -
