  • Met Lucretia Mott

Elizabeth Cady Staton met Lucretia Mott during what should have been her honeymoon. They were both upset over women being excluded from conventions regarding slavery (or rather anti-slavery). I believe this was a turning point of Elizabeth, as having a like minded person in her corner added fuel to her fire. I think this added to her drive and passion to fight for her beliefs. • Creation of the First Women's Rights Convention

Elizabeth worked with Lucretia Mott to create this convention. I believe this allowed her to feel connected to her passion, and allowed her to embrace her role in bringing awareness to others. Information cited from:

  • Met Susan B. Anthony

Elizabeth met Susan B. Anthony in 1851. Much like meeting Lucretia Mott, I believe this was a pivotal point for Elizabeth. I think having someone as powerful as Susan B. Anthony allowed her to express herself to a larger audience, and it furthered her desire to bring awareness to others. • The Women's Bible

Elizabeth created The Women's Bible in 1895. She wanted to highlight the discrepancies for women in the existing literature. I believe this was a large success for her, as it was a final way for her to dig her heels into the feminist agenda.
