It stated that seperate but equal facilities for different races were okay to have. -

It was created to imporve how teaching was done. The Foundation still is working today. -

A group of Stanford graduates start the idea of the intelligence test. Also the Binet-Simmon Scale is completed by the group, -

The Progressive Education Association is started. It tries to promote children to be independent thinkers, to becreative, and to express their own emties and ideas. -

The SAT test is first administered. It is based off of the Army Alpha Test. -
The Great Depression
When the Great Depression began and the stock market crashed, funding for schools decreased greatly. Many schools were closed, teachers were laid off, and there were lower salaries. -
Official School Bus
Frank W. Cyr organizes a confrence on student transportation to school. This is when the first standards for the school bus are recognized and the color yellow is decided for buses. -
National School Lunch Act
The 79th Congress passes the National School Lunch Act. This act approves of school lunch programs and gives low price or free lunches to students. -

It took back what was said in PLessy vs Ferguson. It stated that serparate but equal is not right. -
Little Rock Nine
Nine Africn American students take their first day of high school at Central High. It is the first step of intergrating high schools. The students are escorted in by federal troops. -

This association is still used today. Over half of all students in the US today are recieving special education because of their learning disabilities. -
