    This case was significant in Texas. The US Supreme Court reasoned that aliens and their children are people. Even though they are not citizens of the United States. Texas did not feel the need to provide edivdence to fulfill the state interest so the Supreme Court ruled the law unconstitutional and allowed alliens and their children to have a free public education.
