Robert Hooke first uses the term Cells
Robert Hooke was the first person to use the term cells when decribing the small ""rooms" he saw when looking at a cork with a microscope.

  • Theodore Schwann discovered all animals are made of cells.

Theodore Schwann discovered all animals are made of cells.
In 1839 Theodore Schwann dicovered that all animals are made of cells and said that cells are the basic unit of all living things.
  • Robert Remack said that animal cells are created through bianry fission

Robert Remack said that animal cells are created through bianry fission
In 1852 Robert Reamck published oberservations about cell division. he also said that bianry fission is how animal cells are created (he was also thought to be th orginal author of Rudolfm Virchow's theory that all cells must come from living cells).
  • Rudolf Vichow said that all cells must come fom other living cells.

Rudolf Vichow said that all cells must come fom other living cells.
In 1855 Rudolf Vichow said that all cells must come from living cells (although many thought he copied it from Robert Remack).
