The War began over disputes over rights in the states. The Confederates rose up and took what bases belonged to the South as the Union(North) prepared for a bloody war -

The war started out by disagreements or otherwise how the Union attacked Confederate troops. SInce the problem couldn't be resolved,the Civil war had to begin. -

Shiloh
This battle became a softenining point for all armies. Soldiers just saw their friends get tossed into a hole as the call for bed rang. A general made a song to play for those that died in battle. Confederates managed to capture and kill several squads of Union soldiers. And vice versa -
Emanicpation Proclomation
President Lincoln,after securing a battle at Anietam,gave out a speech that told all the states that all slaves were freemen -

Following after the Gettysburg battle,President Lincoln gave a speech:Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, upon this continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that "all men are created equal."Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived, and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of it, as a final resting place. -

The second bloodiest battle occured at Chickamauga where almost 34,264 soldiers lost their lives. Most were reserves but this battle was more of after-math of Gettysburg a few months later after discovering reconaisaance from the North, -
Toward a Union Victory
Lincoln in his new command of the U.S has put Grant in charge of the Union armies. Lincoln puts his whole trust in Grant hoping that this war will end soon. -
Last Stand
The final battle of the Confederacy and the Union ended at Palmito Ranch in 1865 May 13. This battle came after President Lincoln was inaugurated into Presidency.
