Dave's dad dies
Dave loved his father. His dad died after falling off of a roof. Dave is left with just his brother and stepmom. -

Dave moves to the HHB
What else could go wrong? Gideon Dave's beloved brother moves to Chicago with his uncle. No one wants Dave so he is forced to move to an orphanage. -
Bully's are at the orphanage
Moe the bully assigns himself to bully Dave (the new kid). Moe eates Dave's food too. -
Dave gets a nickname
At the HHB. Everyone is equal, so are their nickanmes. Everbody is a "buddy" and so is Dave. -
Dave sneeks out of the orphanage
Dave hates the orpahnage. One night Dave decided to go out and explore the wild streets. -
Dave trys to get his carving back
Before Dave sneeks out he attemps to get his carving back assuring that he will get a beating from Mr. "Doom" if he is caught. Dave ends up not getting the carving. -
Dave atempts to make it back to the HHB
It's getting late and Dave is still partying. Dave soon realizes what time it is and trys to race back to the orphanage before being caught. -
Dave is sad and happy
Dave finds out his brother Gideon dies. At first he is sad then he isn't. He remembers how Gideon left him and went to their uncle. -
Solly lets Dave out
Solly tells Mr. Meltzer that he is Dave's granfather and gets Dave out. Then they go to Irma Lee's party. -
Dave gets home
After escaping from the orphanage woth the carving Dave arrvied at home after four hours of running. -
Dave has to go back to the HHB
Dave goes back to the HHB with Solly, Irma Lee, and Mrs. Packer. Dave tells them about visiting days adn they occationally visit him. -
The orphanage gets a new superitendent
Mr. Bloom gets fired and the orphanage gets a new superitendent. The new superitendent is named Mr. Gresher.
