Childhood

Period: 1930 to 1946

During his childhood he grew up in a place called the street of a thousand smells" because of the rubber factory and breweries. He played soccer and tag and was named Big Tammy because of his size compared to the other children. He liked to read comic books and he used to sneak out of school and go to the local theater. When he was 13 he started to work fulltime in a dairy, when he turned 16 he joined the navy, and 3 years later got out because of stomach ulcers.

Connery's brother Neil was born in 1938. They were very close. They fished together at a local pond.

Young adulthood

Period: 1940 to 1946

After he got out of the navy, he worked as a brick placer, coffin polisher and model. After saving money he got a gym membership to impress the local girls.

Mr. Universe

He won third place in the 1950 Mr. Universe competition.

Satrt of his acting career

While he was at the Mr. universe contest, a local casting director saw him and was interested. He offered him a position on his new musical, South Pacific. Sean joined and wanted to make an acting career after experiencing it.

First major movie roll

Sean's first major movie roll was in 1957's No Road Back.

First James Bond Film

1962

Sean had moved to Hollywood And had gotten a contract. When the contract had ended, Producer Albert Broccoli casted him as the spy James Bond.

From Russia With love

This was his second movie as James Bond.
