    An alliance between Britain, France and The Ottomans formed. Britain, France, and Austria all realized that a stable Ottoman empire would act as a buffer to Russian expansion.
  • Supply camp at Balaclava built.

    Allied armies land in Crimea Setting up a supply base at Balaclava. the base would later be attacked by Russians but was defended by the British.
  • Battle of Alma

    the Battle of Alma (Not college, silly Mr. Scott) was the first land battle in the Crimean war. The British and French landed on the shores of Crimea and found resistance at the Alma river. This ended in a Russian retreat.
  • Siege of Sebastopol

    Siege of Sebastopol begins with bombardment from British and French navies. After The allied forces started to siege the city in an attempt to open another front in Crimea and to cut Russian supply lines. after constant siege the city fell within a year.

    Piedmont (Sardinia) joins in Crimean War to raise Frances opinion.
  • Peace Congress in Paris.

    Peace Congress of Paris occurred and the Black Sea declared neutral. Danube was declared free and Russia cedes Bessarabia, Danubian principalities.
