Event 1
Willie's father lost his job. After he finds another job his family is forced to move in a apartment where dogs are not allowed. Willie goes on a hunt to find anyone that will take Cracker in .Willie reads in a newspaper advertisement about Vietnam and decides to let Cracker to serve her country in Vietnam. -
Event 2
Rick Hanski is a handy man who has always been told that he was a generalist . His family thinks that he should just join the family business. His family underestimates his ability to be like his sister. To prove his family wrong he joins the army so he can whip the world. -
Event 3
Today is the day where the soldiers get assigned to their dogs that will help them in Vietnam.During training Rick makes two good friends Twenty-Twenty and Cody. While Twenty- Twenty receives Tristie and Cody receives Bruno, two relatively good dogs. While Rick receives Cracker. -
Event 4
During training Cracker gives Rick a hard time until she realizes that she could be put down if she didn't complete the tests appropriately. When Sargent U-Haul gives out trophies for the best dogs ,Rick is disappointed that he and Cracker are not the best after they worked so hard. -
Event 5
Rick and the soldiers get on a plane with the dogs in the back to head on to Vietnam.They occasionally stopped to check on the dogs. -
Event 6
The soldiers and the dogs arrive in Vietnam and are ready to go missions. Cracker realizes that she likes being praised so she tries harder to be better than the other dogs. Rick finds that it has been easier to read Cracker's body language and that they are making great progress. -
Event 7
Sargent U-Haul notices that Rick and Cracker are making great progress. U-Haul recommends to special agents Camel, Vukovich, Madman ,and the Yards that Rick and Cracker would be perfect for the special mission.The mission involves them having to rescue a prisoner and cleaning out a village. -
Event 8
Rick and Cracker successfully save the prisoner and clean out the village. As soon as Rick and Cracker get back to Vietnam they have to leave to fight the enemy. When the soldiers and the dogs arrive Rick sees a girl and notices that she signals the enemy but ignores his intuition. As a result he is shot in the leg and Cracker runs off but Rick develops a taste to kill and shoots a man in the head. -
Event 9
Rick passes out on the field but wakes up to remember that Cracker ran off when he was shot. He continuously tells himself that he will get up and find Cracker but is unsuccessful because he falls uncounciousness again.He wakes up to find himself in a hospital . His only concern is to find Cracker and where she is. He writes everyone he knows to see if the can find Cracker even Willie but no one has high hopes that she is alive. -
Event 10
Cracker is out in the jungle fending for herself when she remembers the camp they were at when her and Rick where on the special mission and decides to go to the camp, Benwa. The soldiers there realizes that she is from America but run tests on her so she can become military equipment for them. She completes the tests adequately and is put in a kennel. -
Event 11
Rick's friend Cody notices Cracker in Benwa and calls Rick so he can make arrangements to pick up Cracker. Rick goes to the airport and invites Willie so he can see Cracker and tells Willie that she was the best dog in Vietnam and that Willie trained her well. Rick tells Willie that he can visit Cracker anytime. While Rick is driving Cracker crawls up in his lap and lays down and she realizes that she is finally home where she belongs.Rick goes on to become an security guard .
