Watson is appointed UN Ambassador
Watson was appointed as a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, alongside Nicole Kidman. Two years later Anne Hathaway would be appointed as well. “Being asked to serve as UN Women’s Goodwill Ambassador is truly humbling. The chance to make a real difference is not an opportunity that everyone is given and is one I have no intention of taking lightly" (Nyamayaro and Windsor). -
HeForShe Launch
In her speech at the UN Headquaters, Watson introduced her new campaign titled, HeForShe. HeForShe focuses on creating gender equality for all around the world. -
Our Shared Self
In an effort to promote equal education, Watson started a feminist Goodreads Book Club. Each month, Watson picks a book centered around equality. She often hides copies of the month's books in Tube and Subway stations.

Acting Break
