    During the 1950's, Communism was a very common fear in the United States. But in 1953 a politician from Wisconsin named Joe McCarthy claimed that he had a list of 57 of State Department employees were apparently Communist. Of course he could never prove this because it was not true but yet in 1954 he does the same thing again but says that the Communist are in the Army. Eventually he lost most of his power for causing basically a second red scare and more fear of Communism.

    This event involved a man named Oliver Brown, his daughter, and a Board of Education for white school. Oliver Brown and his daughter were African-American, so due to the Plessy vs. Ferguson. Which this separated schools by Race, but Brown's home was very far from the nearest African-American School and a White school was much closer. Brown asked their School Board if his daughter could join but when they refused, the NAACP
  • Gerald Ford

    Gerald Ford was elected in 1954-1976 as a Republican. When he first came into politics he was a Michigan Congressman for 25 years! One of his biggest events during his Presidency was when he basically forgave or pardoned Richard Nixon, the previous President, but he did do a lot more. Such as starting trade with the Soviet union even though we were in the middle of the Cold War. But he also helped a lot when it came to the JFK assassination investigation.

    Jimmy Carter was a Democrat, who was in office from 1976 to 1980. But before that he was a Governor of Georgia. Some of the biggest things he did during his presidency is the Helsinki agreement and Boycotting the Olympics since the USSR came. Some other events that happened were that he passed the act of Social Security and he helped with the Camp David accords. But just some fun facts are that he was a millionaire peanut farmer and he was the first president to every be born in a hospital.

    His father and his self are the most new father-son pair of presidents. Much like his father he is also Republican and was elected for two terms between 2000 to 2008. But before he was a Governor of Texas where his family is from. But when he was President one was American history's most tragic event since Pearl Harbor was September 11, 2001 when two planes crashed into the twin towers and killed thousands. But other things happened like the killing of Saddam Hussein. He also started tax relief.

    Barack Obama was our very first and so far only African-American President. Many were very excited for this and over one million people attended with even more watched on TV or on the Internet globally. When a President swears into office, they hold their hand onto a bible while saying the oath. The man who swore him into office was Chief Justice John Robert and Obama used the same bible as Abraham Lincoln since he freed the slaves. Some people wanted to go so bad that they payed 20,000 dollars.
