    This treaty involved the Soviets and the U.S. The treaty was based to get rid of intermidiate nuclear forces. The treaty was signed by Ronald Raegan and Mikhail Gorbachev in 1987.

    In May of 1990 Boris Yeltsin was elected President of Russia. Yeltsin would finish the disolvement of the Soviet Union. Yeltsin was also a very strong supporter of Mikhail Gorbachev for the work that he did to end the Soviet Union.

    on February 25th 1991 the Warsaw Pact was declared disbanded at a defense meeting. Months later Czechoslovak president Vaclav Havel ended the Warsaw Pact.

    In August of 1991 the Soviet Union was ofically dissolved. A few months back a treaty was signed by Russian president Boris Yeltsin as well as the Belarussian president and the Ukrainian president declaring the dissolvement of the Soviet Union. After the treaty former countries started to declare themselves independent countries and August was the official end to the Soviet Union and the Cold War.
