  • Berlin Airligt

    Berlin Airligt
    At the end of the Second World War, U.S., British, and Soviet military forces divided and occupied Germany. Also divided into occupation zones, Berlin was located far inside Soviet-controlled eastern Germany. The United States, United Kingdom, and France controlled western portions of the city, while Soviet troops controlled the eastern sector. The Soviets Built a wall dividing the sections and cut off suplies to that side of berlin. So the United States Air lifted supplies to that side

    U-2 Plane
    This is where the US’s CIA had a plane trying to spy on the Soviets and the Soviets shot it down and this lead to an embarrassing conference between US and Soviets.

    This where the US tried to invade Cuba but failed miserably, This was a big hit to the United States Ego and a big leap backwards
  • Reagan Visits The Wall

    This when Reagan visited the Berlin Wall, this showed continued commitment to the people of West Berlin.
  • Cuban Missle Crisis

    This was the the closest to the US and the Soviets actually fighting. This includes nuclear warfare also. The Cuban Missile Crisis, also known as the October Crisis, the Caribbean Crisis, or the Missile Scare, was a 13-day confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union over Soviet ballistic missiles deployed in Cuba.

    The Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty (SALT) were two rounds of bilateral conferences and corresponding international treaties involving the United States and the Soviet Union—the Cold War superpowers—on the issue of armament control. The two rounds of talks and agreements were SALT 2 and SALT 1.
