When Vidya's Dad comes home with a big blod stain on his shirt, thats when he had to tell her that he was an Indian freedom fighter. -

The family moves after appa get's beat by a cop and then he became brain dead. They go to live with periamma and periappa. -
Book Event- Vidya realizes she really wants to go to college and she loves going to the library.
Vidya wants to finish school before she gets married and she also wants to go to college. Then she discovers the libaray at her house and she goes there all the time after school. -
Book Event- Thatha tells Vidya she can go to college, then Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor
Vidya gets very excited that she can finally go to college, then the Japanese do a surprise bomb attack on Pearl Harbor. -
Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor
This event was very tragic and many people died. (World War 2) -
Britan and America declared war to Japan
Many Indians joined along with the British to fight the Japanese. -
Book Event- Kitta decides to join the war to fight the Japanese and Vidya finds him and says goodbye.
After the attack on Pearl Harbor. many Indians including Kitta joined the war with the British and the USA to fight against the Japanese. -
Indians joined the army
They joined the army to prevent the japanese from bombing India. -
Book Event- Raman asked Vidya to marry her
Vidya said no because she wanted to go to college first. -
Book Event- Vidya's family moved
Vidya's family moved so they can be safe from the bombs of the Japanese. -
Book Event- Vidya writes to Raman
Vidya writes to Raman and says that she is very happy about going to college. She also says that she is excited about their future marriage.
