Generals Grant and Buell defeat Johnstons army because the Union had gotten reinforcements overnight but total damage was nearly 25,000 killed. -
Battle of Antietam
Lee invaded the North and attacked at Antietam but unluckily for the South the Union had found the South's orders wrapped around some cigars but the battle ended in a draw and nearly 12,00 were killed in the first 3 hours of the fight. -
Battle of Fredicksburg
Union General Burnside attacked Lee at Fredricksburg for 6 days but int the end the Union lost nearly 13,000 men and the Confederates only lost nearly 5,000 men. -

This said that any enslaved people in rebellious states were free on January 1 of the year 1863. -
Battle of Chancellorsville
Union general Joe Hooker versed Lee and was assaulted from the side by Stone wall Jackson but Jackson was shot in the arm and later died from his wounds. -
Fall of Vicksburg
General Grant assaulted Vicksburg to gain access to the Mississippi River to cut the South in half which he was successful on July 4th and it was the last major military action of the war. -
End of the war
Lee surrenders to Grant at the Appomattox Court house signifying the end of the Civil War and a win for the Union. -
Sherman's March to the Sea "Scorched Earth"
IT started in November and it ended in December of 1865 this was the first ever time in warfare the the civilian population were targets. But Sherman left towns and farms burnt to the ground.
