This happened because a black parents kid couldn't go to a white school and she said it violated the 14 ammendment. As result this endded up going to the suprem court and blacks could now go to white schools.

As she was going home from a day of work she refused to give up her seat on a bus to a white person. Due to this she got arrested. This caused a 381 day bus boycott. Also led suprem court to banning segrigaton on public transportation.

Governer tried to make it so that blacks counldn't enroll at the schools because they where whites only. The students got in at first but rushed home soon after of the first day due to escalating mobs. Then president eisenhower had army troops protect blacks that went to that school for the year.
