  • Brown v. Board Of Education

    The court outlaws school segregation. The court case that allowed seperate but equal facilities was the Plessy v. Ferguson, and the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that racially seperate facilities if equal, did not violate the constitution. The event that occurred in Topeka Kansas that started the Brown v. Board case was the constitutionality of state-sponsered segregation in public schools.The result of the case was the court said state laws establishing all schools to be unconstitutional.
  • Rev. GEorge Lee killed

    The Rev George Lee killed for leading voter-registration drive in Mississippi.
  • Lamar Smith

    Lamar Smith was killed for organizing black voters in Brookhaven Mississippi.
  • Emmett Louis Till

    Emmett Luis Till was murdered for talking to a white woman while visiting some relatives in Money Mississippi.
  • John Earl Reese

    John Earl Reese was slain by some nightriders who were against a schools improvements in Mayflower Texas.
  • Rosa Parks arrested for refusing to give up her seat

    Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her bus seat to a white man in Montgomery Alabama. The result of this event is that the court baned segregated seating on all busses in Montgomery.
  • Montgomery Bus Boycott

    Montgomery bus boycott begins after Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her bus seat to a white person.
  • Willie Edwards JR.

    Willie Edwards Jr was killedby some klansman who was a 24 year old African-American
  • Civil Rights Of 1957

    Congress passed the first Civil rights act. The law made discrimination based on race,color,religion,sex,or national origion illegal. It also ended unequal application of voter registration requirements and racial segregation in schools at the workplace and by facilities that served the general public.

    The Freedom Riders rode interstate busses into the segregated states in the south.The congress Of Racial inequality helped organize these ridea.Some of the reiders were actually whit but most of them were black.

    Before he became a justice he was an attorney where he represented all manner of clients in all different types of trials. I think this is monumental because it proves no matter what race you are you are just everyone else and you can do things that everyone can.
