Brown vs Board of Educaiton This is about everyone on the consitution agreeing that segregation in schools is unconstitutional and should not be there.

Emmett Till

Aug 1, 1955

Emmett Till This is about a boy who apparently whislted at a white lady and was then later taken from his home he got beaten and murdered.

Rosa Parks

Rosa Parks Rosa Parks just got on the bus and sat down when at the next stop a white person got on the bus and the bus driver told her to move and she said no. She felt like that since there was plenty of room to sit, that she shouldnt move. She had just gotten off of work and walked to the bus stop. She was very sore and tired.

Little Rock 9

Little Rock 9 This part is about the 9 black students who were the first to attend an alll whites school. They got picked on and bullied but they stood. They started a class training them on how to not fight back when they are getting bullied. They all went to the diner and sat down at the all whites section and then they were told to leave adn they wouldnt so people bullied them and tortured them. But they stood.

Sit ins

sit ins This is where SNCC went and sat at different lunch counters and asked ot be served. They were not violent but they got tortured and beaten.

Freedom Riders

May 4, 1961

this is where students would go and ride on buses when the law said that African Americans were not allowed to ride the bus. They sat on the bus peacefully and ended up getting hurt,

James Meredith

He was arrested during an anti seggregation protest.

Fire Hose

May 22, 1963

During a protest Eugene Bull Connor ordered police to use fire hoses on the protesters causing in very serious injuries.

Medgar Evens

The NAACP secretary was murdered infront of his home.

Poll Tax

Jan 23, 1964

The 24th Amendment was made.

Civil Rights Act

Jul 2, 1964

President Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964

Malcom X

Feb 21, 1965

Malcom X was shot to death.
