  • Jim Crow

    Jim Crow

    the Jim crow law had a lot affect of the City of Dallas, TX. One way is the seperation of public facility from the whites, adding the use but seperatiion of water fountains, bathrooms, and more.
  • Civil War

    correct that this has not much about Dallas but, before Texas was a big Slave State and when Texas people fought, they lost, making them give up, most of the peoples slaves.
  • The Oil industtry

    In the 20th industry, Oil had many affect on Dallas makin the Bussiness industry boom.
  • NAACP

    NAACP

    The organization of the National Assosiation of the Advancement of colored people (NAACP) started to fight for black rights.

    In the 1940s sand 1950s many african Americans started to travel to Dallas making a home for themselves.
  • Tusegee Airmen

    At the end of World war 2, many people got to return to their families, including the group called the Tusegee Airmen. This group was a group of African American soldiers that fought in WW2 by piloting their planes and defending cargo from any enemies.

    During World War 2, African Americans would move to Dallas to find a job in home defence but many were met with hate and no payment or housing.

    Althoagh The Brown V. Board started aroun 1954, Dallas didn't start desegreting schools until the 60s. As you can see, the graph is a line chart by PBS showing the pecentage of African American students joining white schools.

    many african americans traveled around america to protest to have their rights and to get ris of segregation. These people had a name showing how fearless they were, their name was The fearless Freedom Riders
