    Nine black school student want to attend Little Rock. President Eisenhower calls upon national guard troops to protect them.

  • Freedom rides

    Blacks rides in groups on buses to test the ruling. They are beaten badly.

  • The Birmingham campaign

    The SCLC meet, but the police use hoses and dogs on demonstrators.

  • The march on Washington

    Over a quarter of a million blacks march for jobs and freedom. MLK gives I dreamed a dream speach.

  • The king is dead

    MLK travels to Mississippi. He is assassinated by James Earl Ray.
