The Brown V. Board Of Education was a case involving the supreme court . The court declared state laws establishing separate public schools for black and white students. It was also ruled to be unconstitutional

Public school was ruled unconstitutional. The govenor brought in the National Gaurd. They would then escort the people to class and every other place they were going in school. -
Emmett Louis Til Murdered.
He was bon in Chicago on July 25, 1941. He was lynched in Mississippi at the age of 14 after reports of flirting with a white woman. He died on August 28, 1955

Rosa Parks Ant The Montgomery BUs Boycott
She was arrested for disobeying an Alabama law. She ruffused to give up her seat on a bus. This caused others to start a bus boycott. -
Little Rock 9
The Little Rock 9 was a group of African American students. They wre going to be enrolled into Little Rock Centeral.The sudents were initially prevented from entering the racially segregated school because Orval Faubus, who was the govener. -
Sit-Ins
Launched a wave of anti-segregation sit-ins. This was spread all across the south. It opened national awareness of the depth of segregation in the nation. -
Freedom Ride
Seven blacks and six whites left Washington, D.C., on two public buses. They tried to test the Supreme Court. This declared segregation in interstate bus and rail stations unconstitutional. -
Birmingham Campaign
Racial immigration in puplic schools was a cause. Another cause for the capaign was discrimination in employment. The biggest result was a call for The March On Washington. -
Medgar Evers
He was an African American civil rights activist. He was killed June12 1963. He was from Mississippi and worked to overturn segregation.

March On Washington
The march was one of the largest political moments forhuman rights in United States history. Mostly for jobs and freedom. This demanded civil and economic rights for African Americans. -
Selma
The three Selma to Montgomery marches happened in 1965. It took place in Selma Alabama. It was part of the Voting Rights Movement. -
Assassination Of Martin Luther King, Jr.
M.L.K was killed at the age of 39. He was killed in Memphis. He was fataly shot and was pronounced dead at 7:05 p.m. at St. Joseph Hospital. -
Civil Rights Act Of 1968
Signed by President Lyndon B. Johnson. This vreated equal housing. Also expanding on earlier civil rights legislation.
