The Supreme Court decides that the Plessy v, Ferguson deciosion "serperate but equal" is, in fact, not okay. Proceeding this case, black children were enrolled in white schools.

Montgomery Bus Boycott

Rosa Parks is arrested in the Montgomery Bus Boycott for not giving up her seat to a white person. Martin Luther King, Jr. is chosen to lead the boycott. It lasted 381 days.

Freedom Riders

May 4, 1961

Two buses took the Freedom Riders on a trip through the South to ensure that it was desegregated. Many of the Freedom Riders were badly beaten up and the bus was even bombed.

I Have A Dream

Aug 28, 1963

Martin Luther King, Jr. gives his "I Have A Dream" speech. 250,000 people heard the speech in Washington, D.C.

Bobby Kennedy Assassinated

Robert Kennedy had just won the California Primary and he was surely going to be our next president. He was a supporter of Civil Rights, and although his death didn't have anything to do with the Civil Rights, they felt that they truly lost a leader.
