    On December 1st, 1955, Rosa parks was asked to give up her seat on bus 2857. Her refusal sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott and served as a catalyst for the Civil Rights Movement

    The Freedom Riders were an intergrated group that decided to protest the Jim Crow laws by riding through southern states together rather than having whites up front and blacks in the back. On Mothers day (May 14) of 1961, the group was attacked and beaten by members of the KKK.

    Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated by James Earl Ray on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel. A high caliber rifle was used to shoot King. The bullet severed his Jugular vein.
