  • White Primary is abolished in GA

    The white primary in GA banned African Americans to vote in democratic elections. So by the time African Americans voted they had already found the winner. Therefore African Americans vote didn’t count towards the election. They did not break a law doing because black people still voted, it just didn’t count. The reason why the court banned it was because it was very unconstitutional.

  • Integration of the Armed Forces

    The man who signed the Integration of Armed forces is President Truman. He signed it for all people of race, color, religion, or national origin.   • Brown vs. Board of Education

    In the case of Brown vs. Board of Education, Linda Brown Thompson and her father Oliver Brown played a big role in this case. In 1999 the case of brown vs. board of education finally end and gave black people the chance to go to a white school. The case overturned Plessey vs. Ferguson.

  • Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott

    In this case Rosa Parks was arrested for standing in the middle of a walk way on a bus, blocking a white woman to get to her seat. This event was taken to the Supreme Court and passed by the Supreme Court. The main people who were involved in this were Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Mrs. Parks.   • Change to Georgia’s state flag.

    They put the confederate battle flag on Georgia’s state flag. It purposes was the integration on public schools. It was created by John Sammons Bell the leader, Jefferson Lee Davis, Willis Harden.

  • Crisis at Central High School and the "Little Rock Nine''

    The Little Rock Nine was a group of African Americans that enrolled in little rock central high school. The reason the crisis started was because the Arkansas National Guard wouldn’t let them into the school. Mobs followed them around threatening to lynch them. It was so bad for them; they had to get the 101st Airborne Division to escort the kids into the school for safety reasons..

  • Hebrew Benevolent Congregation in ATL bombed

    In 1958 October 12,early morning there was bombing on ''The Temple”. The place was targeted because there was Jews and these people didn’t like Jews, they were a white separatist group. The plan was a threat I guess to scar all the Jews and telling them to leave.

  • Sibley Commission

    They didn’t want black people to go to public schools, even though they did they did not treat them right. So the government sent undercover agents to go test the school and see how they are treating black people. It found that the public schools did not treat the black people very so the government shut down the schools.

  • Integration of the University of Georgia

    Hamilton Holmes and Charlayne Hunter were the man people in this event. The two boys were sent to UGA for college. When they got there everyone (white) was told to continue their regular schedule. After a day or two an angry mob appeared outside of hunter’s dorm and caused a lot of damage to his property.

  • Freedom Rides

    The United States Supreme Court, civil right activist, and the KKK were involved in this event. They were trying to protest that they can sit anywhere a white person can sit, they have equal rights. The most of the result include the police arresting them and asking the KKK to help them kill some black people.

  • Albany Movement

    This event took place in Albany Georgia. This event includes local activist, SNCC, NAACP, and later the SCLC and Martin Luther King, Jr. became involved. They were trying to end all racial segregation in cities, jobs, and even schools. It turned out to be a fail because of determined opposition.

  • Birmingham, AL Protest

    This event includes the SCLC, Martin Luther King Jr. They wanted to change the discrimination law; many of the protesters were spared and had attack dogs on them. It was a very tragic thing to see.

    The march was organized by a civil rights, labor, and religious originations. They were trying to protest about jobs and freedom. In the end I am pretty sure that they got what they were protesting for which is very good.

  • 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham bombed

    There were tons of people involved with the event. Like (SCLC), (CORE), and martin Luther king jr. The church was targeted because the KKK wanted to kill black people, so they put a bomb on the basement stairs and killed four little girls.

  • John F. Kennedy Assassinated

    John F. Kennedy was shot and killed in Dealey Plaza, Dallas, Texas. In this event there was only one group (HSCA).The killer of his life was Lee Harvey Oswald. He was driving around saying hello to everyone and he got sniped.

    The rights covered racial segregation and voter registration requirements .The act was signed by President Lyndon B. Johnson.

    There was a four day riot in Atlanta, Georgia. The riot all started when a officer shot a car thief. There were thousands of people in the riot many of them died.

  • MLK Assassinated

    The reactions of the other countries were crazy they didn’t even know that he was died till Kennedy gave his speech later that week. MLK was standing on his balcony of his room at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis Tn. The brutal kill of MLK was James Earl Ray.

  • All GA School Intergrated

    Schools started to integrate when the Brown vs. Bored of Education case ended. When the case ended, many had tried to stop the making integration happened. With all the black people going to White peoples schools, there is a ton of violence and discrimination.
