    Malcom X
Malcolm X was a unique figure in the Civil Rights Movement in the 1900's. Unlike many figures of the movement, Mr. X did not promote nonviolence. He believed that if an African American was treated with violence, then they should respond with it.

  • Stokely Carmichael and Black Power

    Stokely Carmichael and Black Power
The creator of "Black Power", a Harvard student and member of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, he called for the empowerment of black people by black people. Even though his protesting had always been peaceful demonstrations his message was largely misinterpreted as a call for violence on whites, which is tragic. :(
