  • Brown Vs The Board Of Education

    • Involved African Americans and white students. -Had segregation laws in schools. -Ended in the desegregation of public schools.

  • Montgomery Bus Boycott

    -Involved people of color.
    -Campaign against the policy of racial segregation on public transportation.
    -ended segregation in public transportation.

  • Little Rock Nine

    -Involved a group of black students.
    -The student in rolled in an all white high school in little rock.
    -As a result they were bullied.
    - Sevral of the little rock students went on to distinguishing careers.

  • Sit-ins

    -Involved Martin Luther king and a group af colored people.
    -African american students would go to a dinner and sit at the bar and ask for coffee. when their coffee never came they just continued to sit their.
    -Many protesters were arrested but their effort made them change their segregation policy.

  • Freedom Riders

    -Involved civil rights activist.
    -They tried to use "white only" lunch counters & bus stations.
    -As a desalt they were arrested but that only inspired hundreds of new freedom riders.

  • Birmingham Demonstrations

    -Involved African American students
    -A peaceful walk was soured buy high pressure fire hoses.
    -They won their protest.

  • March on Washington

    • Involved African Americans. -A massive protest of 250,000 people. The event aimed to draw attention to continued challenges and inequalities by AA and centuries after emancipation. -They got their rights.
