  • Montgomery Bus Boycott

    Montgomery Bus Boycott
    Began after Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to move to the back of the bus. The boycott lasted for over a year.Lead by Martin Luther King Jr. Supreme Court found that the Segregation of buses was ilegal.The boycott became another large step in the movement
  • Brown vs Board of Education

    Case argued for desegregation of schools so that children could go to whatever school their families chose. Brown won the Supreme Court decided the spreate was inherently unequal. First big step in the push for equality
  • Freedom Riders

    Freedom Riders
    Most of the protesters were black and white students the want the desgregation of interstate busses.They were violenty beaten when they reached Birmingham Alabama. The sheriff of the town worked with the KKK to make sure that the bus riders would be beaten.
