Martin Luther King Jr. raised a march threw Washington D.C. to deliver the "I Have a Dream" speech. this is the largest demonstration of civil rights, it was also one of the largest covered on TV. -

King is assasinated in Memphis. He was the leader of the civil rights movment. This was basically the end of the major civil rights movement. The group got split up into many different groups.
