  • Civil Rights Movement

    The movement started to end segergation ans secure equal rights for African Americans
  • Brown V Board of Education

    The Supreme court ruled that segergated schools were unequal and unjust, coming to the decision that segergated schools should no longer exist
  • Rosa Parks Bus Boycott

    Rosa Parks refused to move to the back of bus when asked, being discriminated against, and was arrested. This event triggered the Bus Boycott and motivated the Civil Rights Movement
  • Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Leads Boycott

    Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. began to lead the Bus Boycott a few days after Rosa Parks arrest, putting leadership and a voice in charge of the boycott, making it a powerful and strong boycott that the world took notice of (Helping the Civil RIghts Movement)
  • Little Rock Nine

    Nine African American students enrolled in a previously all white school, getting a education that they deserved though they had to face discrimination from students, teachers and protesters against them going to the school, but never backing down and being the strong faces of the Civil Rights Movement
  • Greensboro Sit In

    African American students in a Greensboro diner sat at the counter and asked to served, although African Americans customers were not allowed at the counter, and peacefully sat there, coming everyday until they could be served, breaking down discrimination in public and resturants
  • Children March For Equal Rights

    After Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was arrested and adults and other marchers were scared to march after losing a leader, children took the streets and peacefully marched, taking the place of the adults, even though in the process being harmed and abused by the police with no mercy
  • March on Washington

    A march in Washington D.C for Civil Rights lead by Dr. King, who later gave the motivating and inspirational "I Have a Dream" speech that gave the Civil Rights Movement power and opened up the world's eyes
  • Sixteenth Street Baptist Church Bombing

    A bomb went off in the Sixteen Street Baptist Church, Dr. King's old headquarters, and killed four African American girls, all taking place in Birmingham, shocking the movement and striking fear into people
  • Civil Rights Act of 1964

    A law that outlawed segregation in public facilities also discrimination in employment based on a person's race, gender, religion or nationality, a huge win for the Civil Rights Movement
